On October 5, 2017, Thomas Gerard Cavanaugh, of Ellicott City, MD, beloved son of Evelyn R. (Andes) of Ellicott City and the late Peter J. Cavanaugh, Brother of Diane Marxen and her husband Stan of Harrisonville, MD, Kevin Cavanaugh and his wife Nancy of Cambridge, MD, Patrick Cavanaugh of Bel Air, MD, Paul Cavanaugh and his wife Beth of Mt. Airy, MD, Cathleen Lopez and her husband Frank of Ellicott City and Colleen Pallozzi and her husband Bill of Ellicott City. Mr. Cavanaugh is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other relatives, including his Uncles Frank, Jim and Billy Andes. In addition to his father, Mr. Cavanaugh is predeceased by a brother Kenneth.

Mr. Cavanaugh was a 1977 graduate of Howard High School and a 1981 graduate of Salisbury (State) University. While in college, he developed a skill and interest in home improvement and decorating, which led him to form his own business, "Ilchester Painting & Decorating", which he operated successfully for many years.

Tom enjoyed fishing, golfing and being "King Camper" of the Cavanaugh's. To honor family members impacted by cancer, in lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Tom's name to the American Cancer Society.

Friends are invited to join the family in a Celebration of Tom's Life to be held on Saturday, October 14, 2017 from 1-5 p.m. at the Cavanaugh residence. For further information contact pallozzi@yahoo.com.
